Crown Prince Camel Festival concludes in Taif with fierce competition for sword and rifle prizes

The eighth edition of the Crown Prince Camel Festival will conclude tomorrow at the historic Taif racetrack, featuring 20 races for the 'Heil' and 'Zamoul' categories. The highlight will be four main races for the coveted sword and rifle prizes, with total awards exceeding SAR 10.9 million.

The morning session will see 16 races over a distance of six kilometers, split between general and open categories, offering prizes worth SAR 1.3 million. The evening session is reserved for the four final races, where competitors will vie for the festival's rifle and sword trophies.

Camels in the 'Zamoul - General' and 'Zamoul - Open' races will compete for the rifle, while participants in the 'Heil - General' and 'Heil - Open' races will battle for the sword. The winner of each 'Heil' race will receive SAR 1.5 million.

Record organization and prizes

This year's festival featured 248 races across categories including 'Haqayeq', 'Laqaya', 'Jadha', 'Thanaya', 'Heil', and 'Zamoul', as well as the 'Saudi Production' competition. For the first time, the 'Mazayin' beauty contest was added to the program.

The festival is held under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Prime Minister, and organized by the Saudi Camel Federation. Total prize money exceeded SAR 50 million.
