Barcelona president Joan Laporta has accused Real Madrid of attempting to destroy La Liga and the referees' technical committee, saying the league is fortunate to have Javier Tebas at its helm due to his experience in handling attacks against the competition and Spanish football institutions.

Laporta said, "It seems they want to destroy everything—they want to destroy La Liga, the referees' technical committee. They are also dissatisfied with the Spanish Football Federation; they are not satisfied with anything."

His comments come amid escalating tensions between Real Madrid and Tebas, after the Madrid club called for the La Liga president's immediate resignation following his accusation that the club and its TV channel used "Nazi-style" propaganda tactics.

Commenting on the crisis, Laporta praised Tebas' ability to handle such confrontations, saying: "He also shows good judgment in facing these attacks that Real Madrid is launching against La Liga."

He added: "Fortunately, the La Liga president is aware of this and has extensive experience gained from many battles. In this regard, he has the necessary expertise to face these attacks, which are unworthy of a club that is a member of La Liga, as they constantly attack every achievement."

Laporta's remarks came after a lunch with Real Betis officials ahead of their La Liga clash, and before Barcelona's upcoming matches against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and Real Madrid in the league.

The Barcelona president emphasized that the current focus is on the match against Real Betis, praising the level of their opponents. He said: "I want to talk about what concerns us, and our coach (Hansi Flick) has already mentioned it—the match against Real Betis. I must point out that they are a great team, among the best-performing and most prepared in La Liga, alongside Barcelona."

Regarding the upcoming clash with Real Madrid, Laporta said: "As for El Clasico, there will be time to discuss that, but I want to say how fortunate we are to have Javier Tebas as La Liga president, as he has the necessary experience for such matters."
