Real Sociedad edge Valencia 3-2 in dramatic La Liga clash

Valencia suffered a 3-2 defeat at home to Real Sociedad in the final match of the seventh round of the Spanish La Liga.

Real Sociedad took the lead twice, opening the scoring through Luka Sučić in the 26th minute at Mestalla Stadium. Valencia equalized with a goal from Aron Mayol in the 57th minute, but the visitors regained the advantage when Carlos Soler converted a penalty in the 75th minute.

The drama continued as Valencia drew level again after Luken Petia scored an own goal in the 84th minute. However, Sociedad snatched victory with a stoppage-time winner from Ander Barrenetxea in the 91st minute. The visitors held on despite being reduced to ten men after Ori Óskarsson was sent off in the 96th minute.

With this win, Real Sociedad claimed their third victory in La Liga, moving up to eighth place with 10 points. Valencia remain on four points in 19th place, second from bottom.
