Al-Ahli signs French midfielder Ibrahima Diaby from Cercle Brugge on four-year deal

Al-Ahli Football Club concluded the summer transfer window in Saudi Arabia on Sunday by announcing the signing of French midfielder Ibrahima Diaby from Belgian side Cercle Brugge on a four-year contract.

Diaby, 19, came through the youth ranks at Paris Saint-Germain, where he captained the junior teams before starting his professional career with Cercle Brugge last year.

Al-Ahli, the Asian champions, faced criticism from fans this summer over their transfer activity, with some expressing dissatisfaction with the new signings, especially after the departures of Riyad Mahrez, Franck Kessié, and Enzo Mieu, which also led to the dismissal of Portuguese sporting director Rui Pedro Braz.

Al-Ahli's key new signings

Among the club's most notable signings this window is playmaker Eduard Spertsyan, who has impressed in his early appearances, alongside Portuguese winger Francisco Trincão.

Meanwhile, Al-Ahli currently sits fifth in the Saudi Pro League with nine points from five matches.
