Saudi Handball Federation launches talent discovery project in Eastern Province

The Saudi Handball Federation has launched its 'Talent Discovery' project, with the Eastern Province hosting the first phase as part of a strategic plan to expand the pool of talented players and prepare them to represent the national teams in the future.
The initiative targets promising junior players born in 2010 and 2011. The first phase, titled 'Eastern Gathering,' begins this evening and will run for 14 days, featuring 56 participants at the Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Sports City in Qatif.
The federation has appointed the national junior team’s head coach, Spanish trainer Agustin Bo Barrionuevo, to oversee the technical aspects of the project. Barrionuevo, who recently took charge of the junior national team, will lead the program from its inception, drawing on his extensive experience in player development and talent nurturing.
This project is part of the federation’s vision to develop youth categories by implementing modern training programs based on the latest techniques in talent identification and development, aiming to prepare a new generation of players capable of supporting Saudi teams and competing at the highest levels in the coming years.
