Saudi brothers start together for national team for first time in 14 years

Mohammed and Saleh Abu Al-Shamat have both been named in Saudi Arabia's starting lineup for the ongoing match against Kuwait in the 27th Gulf Cup, marking the first time in 14 years that two brothers have started together for the national team under head coach Georgios Donis.

The last official match in which two brothers started for the Green Falcons was on September 11, 2012, in a friendly against Gabon at the Brisson Stadium in France, which Saudi Arabia lost 1-0. The team was then managed by Dutch coach Frank Rijkaard.
