Al-Ittihad’s Marwan Al-Sahafi hails Asian Champions League win as morale boost ahead of Al-Kholood clash

Al-Ittihad striker Marwan Al-Sahafi expressed his immense happiness following his team’s emphatic away win over Al-Jazira of the UAE.

Al-Ittihad secured a commanding 4-1 victory against Al-Jazira on Tuesday at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, advancing from the preliminary round to the league stage of the AFC Asian Champions League Elite.

Speaking exclusively to Ajel after the match, Al-Sahafi said: “Thank God, we achieved a big win today against Al-Jazira. It was a very important match for us, and qualifying for the Asian Champions League Elite was essential.”

He added, “This emphatic victory will give us a strong start to the season and help us approach our first Roshn League match against Al-Kholood with greater confidence, especially with only four days to prepare.”

This resounding win marks Al-Ittihad’s first triumph of the new season and their first under German coach Jens Wissing, who recently replaced Portuguese manager Sergio Conceição.
