Diriyah signs Senegal's Idrissa Gana Gueye from Everton

Diriyah Football Club announced on Sunday the signing of Senegal international Idrissa Gana Gueye from English Premier League side Everton, as the club looks to bolster its squad ahead of the upcoming season.

The club’s official account on X shared a video capturing the moment Gueye signed his contract, accompanied by the caption: “Here in the cradle of champions... from the cup of glory to Idrissa’s cup.”

Distinguished European career

Gueye began his professional career with French club Lille before moving to the Premier League, first with Aston Villa and then Everton, where he made a strong impression. In 2019, he joined Paris Saint-Germain, helping the French side win a domestic treble and reach the 2020 UEFA Champions League final.

He later returned to Everton after a successful stint in Paris, where he remained under contract until the summer of 2026, but has now transferred to Diriyah before the end of his deal.
