Qadsiah defeat Abha to claim provisional Roshn League lead

Qadsiah temporarily moved to the top of the Roshn Saudi League standings after defeating visitors Abha 2-1 on Friday in the ninth round, raising their tally to 22 points. The team benefited from the postponement of several matches this round, including the clash between Al-Hilal and Al-Riyadh.

Italian striker Mario Retiqi opened the scoring for Qadsiah in the 30th minute, making up for a missed penalty in the 12th minute to give his side the lead before halftime.

Mohammed Abu Al-Shamat doubled the hosts' advantage with a goal in the 69th minute, before Juri Al-Yamami netted Abha's only goal in the 90+5 minute. However, Abha could not avoid defeat.

With this result, Qadsiah increased their points total to 22 to lead the standings temporarily, while Abha remain bottom with just two points and are still searching for their first win of the season.
