Al-Ittihad schedules surgery for Roger Fernandes in France

Al-Ittihad has scheduled Portuguese footballer Roger Fernandes' surgery for August 18 in Lyon, France, to treat a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

In a statement posted on its official account on Tuesday, the club said the operation will be performed by Dr. Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet, a specialist in ACL surgeries.

Fernandes is currently continuing his rehabilitation program at the club under the supervision of the first team's medical staff as he prepares for the procedure.

The Portuguese winger joined Al-Ittihad in September 2025 from Braga on a contract running until June 2029.

Fernandes, 20, has played 28 matches for Al-Ittihad across all competitions, scoring five goals and providing three assists.
