Spanish reports reveal Rodri's chronic injury and playing time limit

Spanish media outlets close to Real Madrid have reported that Rodri is suffering from a herniated disc in his back, which will prevent him from playing more than 3,000 minutes per season.

Real Madrid was close to signing Rodri after the 2026 World Cup, but Barcelona intervened and secured his signature on a four-year contract.

Surgeon Alvaro Martin told Spanish media affiliated with Real Madrid that the back surgery Rodri underwent was not serious, but he believes Rodri has a herniated disc, which will limit him to 3,000 minutes of play this season. He added that he understands why Real Madrid withdrew from the deal.
