Qadsiah to face UAE’s Al Wasl in Asian Champions League Elite opener

Qadsiah will begin their Asian Champions League Elite campaign with a home match against UAE side Al Wasl on Monday, marking the start of the group stage in the continental tournament.

The team heads into the fixture in high spirits after a strong start to the Saudi Pro League, where they currently sit fourth, just two points behind leaders Al Hilal after seven rounds.

Qadsiah head coach Brendan Rodgers said at a pre-match press conference that competing in the Asian tournament is a great source of pride for the club, describing the team’s qualification as “a long-awaited dream come true.”

Rodgers explained that the collective effort, which began last season, continued until the team secured qualification. He said, “We deserve to be here.
