Raheem Sterling faces up to two years in UK prison over dangerous driving charges

Former Liverpool and Manchester City footballer Raheem Sterling is facing up to two years in prison in the UK after being charged with dangerous driving, illegal possession of nitrous oxide (commonly known as laughing gas) for inhalation, and failing to cooperate with investigators by refusing to provide a sample.

Sterling was arrested about three months ago after crashing into barriers, but was released on bail pending further investigation before appearing in court.

The player joined Feyenoord in February after mutually terminating his contract with Chelsea, but has made only eight appearances for the Dutch club.
