Al-Kholood withstands Al-Taawoun comeback to claim first Roshn League win

Al-Kholood clinched a 3-2 win over Al-Taawoun on Saturday evening in the second round of the 2026-2027 Roshn Saudi Pro League, having led by three goals at halftime before the visitors narrowed the gap in the second half but fell short of equalizing.

Al-Kholood took early control, opening the scoring in the 21st minute through Edgaras Utkus, with Iker Kortajarena doubling the lead in the 30th minute.

Just before halftime, Shaquille Pinas extended the hosts' advantage with a third goal in the fifth minute of stoppage time, sending Al-Kholood into the break with a commanding 3-0 lead.

The momentum shifted in the second half as Abderrazak Hamdallah pulled one back for Al-Taawoun in the 52nd minute, then added his second in the third minute of stoppage time.

Despite late pressure and attempts to level the match, Al-Kholood held firm until the final whistle, securing the victory and remaining unbeaten after two rounds.

Al-Kholood now has four points, while Al-Taawoun remains on one point from their opening draw against Al-Khaleej.
