Waleed Al-Faraj to launch new sports show on Rotana Khalijia in August

Rotana Media Group has announced that prominent Saudi sports journalist Waleed Al-Faraj is joining its network and will launch his new program, "Rotana Sport.. Ma'a Waleed," on Rotana Khalijia channel starting August 12. The show will air daily at 11:30 p.m. Saudi time.

This development comes just 24 hours after Al-Faraj announced the end of his 14-year tenure with MBC Group, bidding farewell to his followers on X and hinting at the start of a "new chapter" in his media career.

Rotana's strategy in sports media

Rotana explained that this move is part of its strategy to expand its presence in sports media and develop content that keeps pace with the growth of the sports sector in Saudi Arabia and the goals of Vision 2030. The group also aims to attract top media talent and strengthen Rotana Khalijia's position as a Saudi channel closely aligned with audience interests.

Rotana Media Group CEO Mufid Al-Nuwasr stated that bringing Waleed Al-Faraj on board and launching the new show marks a significant step in enhancing the group's presence in sports media. He emphasized their commitment to delivering professional content that meets audience expectations and reflects the ongoing development of Saudi sports.

For his part, Waleed Al-Faraj expressed his delight at joining Rotana, affirming his ambition to present a sports program that reflects the opinions and aspirations of the Saudi sports community. He added that the show will keep pace with the evolution of sports in the Kingdom and meet the expectations of both Saudi and Arab audiences through Rotana Sport.

Known as "Abu Action," Waleed Al-Faraj has more than four decades of media experience, starting his career in journalism in 1985 before moving into television presenting and sports analysis. Over the years, he has hosted several prominent sports programs, including "Al-Jawla," "Action Ya Dawri," "Al-Dawri Ma'a Waleed," and "Action Ma'a Waleed."
