Al-Bukayriyah fall to Al-Zulfi, still seeking first league win

Al-Bukayriyah’s first team continued their disappointing run in the Saudi First Division League, suffering another defeat at home to Al-Zulfi 2-0 on Tuesday evening. The match, played at Al-Bukayriyah Club Stadium as part of the seventh round, leaves the hosts still searching for their first win of the season.

The home side endured a difficult start when Al-Bukayriyah’s Hazaa Asiri was shown a red card in the 13th minute, forcing the team to play most of the match with ten men. Al-Zulfi capitalized on their numerical advantage, with Ben Malango opening the scoring in the 30th minute before Mutair Al-Zahrani doubled the lead in the 60th minute.

The defeat further complicates Al-Bukayriyah’s position, dropping them to the bottom of the table with just two points from a possible 21 after seven matches without a win since the start of the season.

Al-Bukayriyah’s winless streak continues despite the dismissal of former coach Rudolf Ojida and the appointment of German manager Thomas Berdarich in an effort to turn the team’s fortunes around.
