Al-Ittihad defeat Al-Faisaly 3-1 to top Roshn Saudi League

Al-Ittihad extended their impressive run in the Roshn Saudi League with a 3-1 victory over hosts Al-Faisaly on Friday, in the seventh round of the competition. The win lifts Al-Ittihad to 17 points and temporarily puts them at the top of the league standings.

Alongside Al-Kholood, Al-Ittihad remain the only unbeaten teams in the league this season, maintaining their perfect record after overcoming Al-Faisaly.

The match was settled early when Dutch player Steven opened the scoring in the 28th minute, capitalizing on a pass from Colombian Richard Rios.

Just before halftime, Moroccan Youssef En-Nesyri doubled Al-Ittihad’s lead in the 43rd minute, assisted by Nigerian George Ilenikina.

En-Nesyri struck again in the 59th minute, netting his second and Al-Ittihad’s third goal, once more set up by Ilenikina.

Al-Faisaly managed to pull one back three minutes from time, with Congolese Theo Bongonda scoring their only goal in the 87th minute, but it was not enough to change the outcome.

Al-Ittihad now lead the Roshn Saudi League with 17 points, while Al-Faisaly remain second from bottom with three points from three draws.
