Al-Ittihad has announced that defender Muhannad Al-Shanqeeti will miss the upcoming King’s Cup round of 32 match against Najma after sustaining an abdominal wall injury.

The club shared a medical report on its official X account, stating that scans revealed an injury to the left side of Al-Shanqeeti’s abdominal wall.

According to the report, the Saudi international right-back has begun a rehabilitation program under the supervision of Al-Ittihad’s medical staff.

Al-Shanqeeti has featured in just one match for Al-Ittihad this season (2026/2027), coming on as a substitute for Ahmed Al-Julaidan during the opening Saudi Pro League fixture against Al-Kholood.

He also missed Al-Ittihad’s play-off against Al-Jazira of the UAE in the AFC Champions League Elite, and is now confirmed absent for the King’s Cup tie against Najma.
