Bukayriyah winless after five rounds, sit 17th amid criticism

Bukayriyah’s difficult start to the First Division football season continues, as the team has failed to secure a win after five rounds, managing only two draws and three defeats to collect just two points.

Bukayriyah currently sit seventeenth, second from bottom in the league table, with two points from five matches and a goal difference of -5.

The team has scored three goals and conceded eight in those five games, putting them under early pressure at the start of the season.

Bukayriyah’s results include a goalless draw with Al-Anwar, a 1-1 draw with Al-Okhdood, a 1-0 loss to Al-Adalah, a 4-1 defeat by Al-Jandal, and a 2-1 loss to Damac in the most recent round.

At home, Bukayriyah have yet to win in three matches, drawing 0-0 with Al-Anwar, losing 1-0 to Al-Adalah, and suffering a second home defeat to Damac 2-1, earning just one point from a possible nine on their own ground.

Saleh Al-Awad expressed concern over the team’s situation this season, noting the departure of several key players such as Othman Bato, Lofator, Jonathan, and a foreign goalkeeper whom he described as one of the best the club has had. He believes the club did not fully benefit from these players before their exit.

Al-Awad added that the current state of the team is worrying compared to previous seasons, especially with the lack of victories in the opening rounds.

Meanwhile, Ammar Al-Fahad criticized the club’s management, arguing that responsibility should not rest solely with the coaching staff, and that the ongoing approach, unchanged for years, needs to be reviewed in light of current results.

Al-Fahad said that the previous promotion from the Third Division to the First Division is not enough to evaluate the club’s work, stressing the importance of giving opportunities to new talents who can add value to the team.

These criticisms come as Bukayriyah continue to search for their first win, with calls to improve results and restore balance in the coming rounds, especially as the team remains seventeenth with just two points.

The upcoming period will be crucial for Bukayriyah as they seek to climb the table and return to positive results.
