Saudi U-20 team books place at 2027 AFC Asian Cup with perfect record

Saudi Arabia's under-20 national football team secured a spot at the 2027 AFC U-20 Asian Cup after defeating Qatar 1-0 on Sunday in the third and final round of Group E in the Asian qualifiers.

Fares bin Salem scored the only goal of the match, leading the young Green Falcons to their third consecutive victory and securing the top spot in the group with a perfect nine points.

Saudi Arabia began their qualifying campaign with a 2-0 win over Hong Kong, followed by a 3-2 victory against Oman in the second round, and concluded with a valuable 1-0 win over Qatar.

The team finished the qualifiers with a flawless record, winning all three matches, scoring six goals and conceding only two, underlining their dominance in the group and their qualification for the 2027 AFC U-20 Asian Cup finals.

Oman finished second in the group with four points, followed by Qatar with three points, while Hong Kong placed fourth with one point.
