Agent dispute delays Real Madrid’s announcement of Yans Diomande signing

Real Madrid has delayed the official announcement of its signing of Ivorian winger Yans Diomande from Germany’s RB Leipzig, despite earlier media reports confirming an agreement between the two clubs.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, the delay is due to a legal dispute between Diomande’s representatives. The company Maxdeal, which was represented by former agent Max Gradel, has filed a complaint with FIFA against Roc Nation, which currently manages the player’s affairs.

The complaint centers on an alleged breach of a previous contract, as Roc Nation handled negotiations with Real Madrid for the transfer. The newspaper added that Real Madrid’s management was not previously aware of the case filed with FIFA.

FIFA’s position and Real Madrid’s options

Sources indicated that the issue could be resolved if Real Madrid requests a “temporary license” for Yans Diomande, especially since all other aspects of the agreement have already been finalized.

FIFA typically enforces strict regulations regarding player agents and management companies, leaving Diomande’s registration in the international transfer system uncertain for now. This could result in further delays or even a temporary refusal to register the player.
