AlUla extends lead atop First Division as three clubs claim first wins

The fifth round of the Saudi First Division League concluded with AlUla pulling away at the top with a perfect record, as three clubs secured their first wins of the season.

AlUla dominated the top-of-the-table clash against nearest rivals Jeddah with a 3-0 victory, raising their tally to 15 points and extending their lead to seven points. Jeddah remain on eight points, dropping to fourth place.

Al-Anwar climbed to second with eight points after a narrow 1-0 win over Al-Saqr, handing the latter their first defeat of the season and leaving them on four points in 16th place.

Al-Adalah earned a valuable 1-0 home win over Al-Jandal, moving up to third with eight points, while Al-Jandal stay on four points in 15th place.

Al-Jabalain returned from Al-Ahsa with a 1-0 win over Hajer, advancing to fifth place with eight points. Hajer remain on five points in 14th place.

Al-Tai and Al-Zulfi played out a goalless draw, with Al-Tai moving to seven points in ninth place, level on points with sixth-placed Al-Zulfi but behind on goal difference.

In the highest-scoring match of the round, Al-Wehda defeated visiting Al-Okhdood 4-2 to secure their first win after four consecutive draws, moving up to seven points in sixth place. Al-Okhdood stay on six points in tenth.

Al-Najma drew 1-1 at home with Al-Raed, earning their sixth point to sit 11th, while Al-Raed moved up to seven points in eighth place.

Damac claimed their first win of the season with a 2-1 away victory over Al-Bukayriyah, raising their tally to six points in 12th place. Al-Bukayriyah remain on two points in 17th.

Al-Orobah also celebrated their first win, beating Al-Jeel 1-0 at home to reach six points in 13th place. Al-Jeel stay bottom with just one point.

After five rounds and 18 goals scored, the top scorers are Diego Miranda (Al-Adalah), Joao Novaes (Al-Najma), and Ivo Ememe Christ (Jeddah) with four goals each. They are followed by Hamoud Al-Shammari (Al-Raed), Aitor Lopez (Al-Tai), Reda Bensaiah (Al-Anwar), and Romell Quioto (AlUla) with three goals apiece.

The fifth round saw Damac, Al-Wehda, and Al-Orobah register their first wins, while Jeddah, Al-Okhdood, and Al-Saqr suffered their first defeats. AlUla, Al-Zulfi, and Al-Wehda remain unbeaten, while Al-Saqr, Al-Bukayriyah, and Al-Jeel are still searching for their first victory.

AlUla leads the league in attack with 10 goals, followed by Al-Adalah, Al-Wehda, Al-Raed, and Al-Okhdood with seven each. Defensively, AlUla and Al-Zulfi share the best record, conceding just one goal apiece.
