Al Nassr defeat Uzbekistan’s Neftchi 3-1 in AFC Elite Champions League

Al Nassr defeated Uzbekistan’s Neftchi 3-1 on Monday evening at King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, in the second round of the AFC Elite Champions League.

Angelo opened the scoring for Al Nassr in the 33rd minute, before Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo doubled the lead in the 42nd minute, allowing Al Nassr to end the first half 2-0 ahead.

Early in the second half, Odilov pulled one back for the Uzbek side in the 51st minute, but Gafurov then scored an own goal to give Al Nassr their third, sealing a 3-1 win.

With this result, Al Nassr earned their first three points of the group stage after losing 4-0 to Al Ain of the UAE in the opening round. Neftchi remain on three points, having previously beaten Iraq’s Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya 1-0 at the start of the tournament.
