Trabzonspor breaks ticket sales record after signing Mohamed Salah

Turkish club Trabzonspor has broken its all-time record for season ticket sales, announcing that sales for the 2026-2027 season have reached 18,000, coinciding with the signing of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah.

The club announced on its X account that season ticket sales had reached 18,000, stating: "With 18,000 season tickets sold for the 2026-2027 season, we have set a new record for the highest season ticket sales in our club's history."

After breaking the record, Trabzonspor revealed a new target of 25,000 season tickets, emphasizing that the achievement was the result of "careful planning, collective wisdom, patience, and hearts united by the same goal."

The surge in demand followed the club's signing of Mohamed Salah on a free transfer with a two-year contract after his departure from Liverpool. The Egypt national team captain received a warm welcome from fans upon his arrival in Trabzon and at the club's stadium.

Senol Gunes Stadium has a capacity of around 41,000 spectators, meaning the current ticket sales are close to half the stadium's total capacity.

Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan said that the strong demand for season tickets and shirts has helped cover more than half of Salah's annual contract cost in just a few days.

Dogan told HT Spor that season ticket sales have exceeded 550 million Turkish lira, equivalent to $11.5 million.

Trabzonspor will open its new season against Kasimpasa next Saturday.
