Mohamed Salah nears Al-Ittihad move with $25 million annual salary: reports

Al-Ittihad has entered advanced negotiations to sign Egyptian footballer Mohamed Salah, the former Liverpool star, during the current summer transfer window, after talks between the player and Turkish club Besiktas stalled, according to Turkish media reports.

The Turkish newspaper "Sabah" reported that Salah has agreed to join the Saudi Pro League, specifically Al-Ittihad, noting that the club began negotiations with the player after discussions with Besiktas broke down due to disagreements over certain contract terms.

Reports indicated that Al-Ittihad has offered Salah an annual salary of $25 million, surpassing the offer made by the Turkish club. The player is said to have accepted the proposal, with the contract expected to be finalized in the coming period.

Salah has been linked with several Saudi Pro League clubs—including Al-Ittihad, Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, Al-Ahli, Al-Qadsiah, and Al-Durayhiyah—following his departure from Liverpool after nine years with the English side.

Similarly, the Turkish website "ajansspor" reported that Al-Ittihad's management made an attractive financial offer to Salah, including an annual salary of $25 million, and that the player has given initial approval, bringing the deal close to completion.

The report added that Salah's negotiations with Besiktas ended due to financial demands from his agent, Ramy Abbas, after talks had reached an advanced stage.

Earlier, the Turkish newspaper "Hürriyet" stated that Salah held a meeting with his agent to discuss the offers he received, noting that Besiktas had proposed an annual salary of €15 million before negotiations broke down.

Mohamed Salah boasts an impressive record with Liverpool, having won the Premier League twice, as well as the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup once each.
