In a post on his X account, Alwaleed bin Talal said: “My brother and friend, Crown Prince Mohammed, today at 3:56 we completed the acquisition of 70% of Al Hilal, in partnership with the state represented by the Public Investment Fund at 30%. Kingdom Holding Company also announced it had completed all procedures related to its acquisition of 70% of Al Hilal’s shares, following the signing of a share purchase agreement with the Public Investment Fund.
Al Hilal’s equity was valued at 1.2 billion riyals (SAR), with the transaction amounting to 840 million riyals, representing 70% of the total valuation. The company confirmed it had obtained all regulatory approvals and no-objection certificates, as well as fulfilled all internal conditions stipulated in the agreement dated April 16, 2026.
