Kings League World Cup kicks off in Milan with Arab teams in spotlight

The Kings League World Cup will take place in Milan, Italy, from July 26 to August 1, featuring the top 16 teams that qualified from regional tournaments worldwide. This eagerly anticipated edition brings together champions from global leagues alongside teams led by football stars and prominent content creators.

Representing the Middle East and North Africa are Darbah, the regional Kings League champions, and Fawaz. Both teams enter the tournament aiming to achieve a landmark result for the Arab world in the largest Kings League event to date.

Darbah will open their campaign with a tough match against Spain’s Los Troncos, the reigning World Cup champions, in one of the most anticipated fixtures of the opening round. Fawaz will begin their journey facing Atlético Parceros, a team captained by Colombian star James Rodríguez.

The tournament also features teams led by some of football’s biggest names, including Spain’s Lamine Yamal and Brazilian star Neymar, reflecting the competition’s growing international popularity.

Darbah emphasized that participating in the World Cup is an opportunity to prove their ability to compete, stating that their ambition goes beyond a respectable showing and extends to contending for the title.

The team said: "We are very excited to return to competition and aim to represent Saudi Arabia in the best possible way. We have a strong squad and believe we can compete with any team."

They added that the team draws inspiration from Morocco’s national team, which impressed at the World Cup, stressing that collective spirit and determination can make a difference on the pitch.

Meanwhile, Fawaz highlighted that winning the Kings League title for the Middle East and North Africa gave the players great confidence ahead of the global tournament, affirming that the team approaches every match with a winning mentality.

The team said: "Representing the Arab world in a tournament of this scale is a responsibility we are proud of. We look forward to showcasing the level of football in our region and proving that Arab teams can compete with the best in the world."

The tournament features 16 teams that qualified from Kings League competitions around the world. The format guarantees each team at least two matches in the opening stage, with teams earning two wins advancing to the knockout rounds, while those with two losses are eliminated.
