Aramco Saudi Formula 4 Championship returns with biggest season yet

The Aramco Saudi Formula 4 Championship will return for its third edition from October to December 2026, marking its largest season to date as it continues to nurture national talent and prepare promising drivers to compete at the highest standards set by the International Automobile Federation (FIA).

The championship will feature six rounds, hosted at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit and Lusail International Circuit in Qatar, reflecting the series’ regional expansion and strengthening its presence beyond Saudi Arabia.

This new season will introduce a revised competition format, including an official test day and two race days per round, giving drivers more track time and greater opportunities to gain experience and develop their skills.

The championship aims to continue serving as a platform for developing and refining the next generation of Saudi and international drivers by providing a professional, competitive environment that meets the highest FIA standards. This supports young talent in progressing from karting to single-seater racing, following a structured development path toward higher levels of motorsport.

Up to 20 male and female drivers will compete in identical Tatuus F4 Gen2 cars, ensuring equal opportunities for all participants and making skill and performance the decisive factors in the results.

Mansour Al-Muqbil, Acting CEO of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, said the championship is a key pillar in the federation’s strategy to develop national motorsport talent. He noted that the expanded new season reflects the championship’s growing status and Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting local talent and enhancing its position as a global motorsport destination.

Mohammed Abduljawad, Chairman and CEO of Al-Tawkilat, said the third edition marks a new phase in the development of motorsport in the Kingdom. He highlighted the broader calendar, improved competition format, and ongoing regional expansion, all of which help create a professional environment for emerging talent and support national competencies across various motorsport disciplines.

The upcoming season builds on the success of the previous edition, which saw close competition and concluded with Britain’s Kit Belofsky winning the championship, followed by Adam Al-Azhari of the UAE in second place and Sweden’s Scott Lindblom in third.

The championship also supports the Kingdom’s motorsport ecosystem by developing national expertise in engineering, mechanics, operations, media, and marketing, contributing to sector growth and supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
