Barcelona defeat Egypt’s Al Ahly to claim Joan Gamper Trophy

Barcelona lifted the Joan Gamper Trophy on Wednesday evening after defeating Egypt’s Al Ahly 2-1 in a match held at Camp Nou.

Egyptian player Hamza Abdel Karim opened the scoring for the Catalan side in the 30th minute, before Brazilian Rafinha doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the 45th minute.

In the second half, Al Ahly reduced the deficit through Zizo, who scored in the 51st minute.

In stoppage time, Barcelona’s new signing, Englishman Anthony Gordon, missed a penalty in the first minute of added time.

The Joan Gamper Trophy is an annual tradition in which Barcelona present their squad for the new season to their fans.
