RB Leipzig halts talks with Real Madrid over Yan Diomande transfer

Negotiations between Real Madrid and RB Leipzig over the transfer of Ivorian winger Yan Diomande have stalled, after the Spanish club received no response to its latest offer, according to Florian Plettenberg, a reporter for Germany's Sky Sports.

Plettenberg reported that Leipzig's lack of response to the most recent proposal led to a halt in talks, a development that reportedly surprised Real Madrid, as the deal had seemed close to completion.

He added that Leipzig has informed Diomande he is to join the squad traveling on Saturday to the team's training camp in Austria, although the player still hopes to avoid making the trip.

The Ivorian winger is said to prefer, if required to travel with the team, not to participate in group training sessions to avoid any injury that could affect his future.

Plettenberg noted that Diomande has "mentally left" Leipzig and remains determined to join Real Madrid, expressing hope that the two clubs will reach an agreement soon.

Despite the current pause in negotiations, the Sky Sports reporter stressed that the deal is still on the table, adding that the weekend could be decisive in determining its outcome.
