FIFA reaffirms full support for Infantino after emergency meeting in Morocco

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has reaffirmed its full support for President Gianni Infantino following an emergency meeting held in Morocco, attended by senior officials from the global football governing body.

FIFA stated that the federation's leaders who participated in the summit renewed their complete backing for Infantino to remain as president, despite recent criticism over a plan to sell stakes in the World Cup.

FIFA had previously apologized for the flaws in Infantino's failed proposal to sell shares in the tournament, a plan that sparked widespread controversy and calls for his resignation.

In an official statement, FIFA added that Secretary General Mattias Grafström and board members expressed their support for President Infantino during the meeting, in an effort to demonstrate unity within the organization.
