Thrilling start to Riyadh horse racing season at King Abdulaziz Racetrack

The Riyadh horse racing season kicked off at King Abdulaziz Racetrack, drawing elite horses, owners, trainers, and jockeys for a highly competitive and exciting opening.

Sheikh Abdullah Hamoud Al-Malek Al-Sabah’s stable dominated the opening week with seven victories, while the stable of Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz made a strong impression with four wins, signaling a fiercely competitive season ahead.

The first week’s program featured 24 races, with 12 held each evening, and total prize money reaching 1.5 million riyals (SAR), as enthusiastic crowds engaged with the opening events.

Jockey Mohammed Al-Daham continued his impressive form, claiming six victories to lead the jockey standings, while Ricardo Ferreira secured five wins, both making their mark on the season’s debut.

With the first week concluded, the Riyadh racing season continues next week with the second round of races and a variety of events anticipated.
