Bayern Munich silent on Jamal Musiala’s condition after collapse

Bayern Munich has remained silent regarding the health status of Jamal Musiala, who lost consciousness near the end of Saturday’s friendly match against RB Leipzig, with no official statement or update released so far.

The lack of information has sparked concern and debate, as Bayern typically provides updates on players’ physical conditions the day after matches. However, no details have been shared about Musiala, who was in the process of regaining fitness after suffering a leg fracture more than a year ago.

The club’s sporting director, Max Eberl, gave the only official comment after the match, saying, “The most important thing is that he’s okay.” He suggested that the high temperature inside Allianz Arena may have contributed to Musiala’s collapse in the final minutes, despite the player coming on as a substitute and scoring a goal.

The medical team responded quickly after Musiala’s teammates called for help, and the doctor signaled with a thumbs-up that things were under control. Musiala was able to leave the pitch on his own via the stairs to the tunnel, though he appeared unsteady.

Musiala’s future in the starting lineup

Musiala did not perform at his usual level during the last World Cup, and Bayern’s signing of Moroccan international Ismael Saibari could affect his place in the starting lineup for the Bavarian side.

Bayern Munich is set to play its first official match of the season next Saturday against Borussia Dortmund in the Franz Beckenbauer Super Cup.
