Genesio under pressure despite fan support

Head coach Bruno Genesio has endured a poor start, becoming the first manager in club history to lose five of his first six official games. According to Canal+, Genesio is considering resignation, feeling misled by unfulfilled promises from the club’s management, as reported by sources close to him.

After the defeat, Marseille players approached their supporters to apologize, receiving chants of encouragement despite the disappointment—a scene that deepened the players’ sense of regret.

Disappointment among the squad

Midfielder Imad Abdelli said the team lost and failed to earn any points, calling it the essence of football. He added: “We are very disappointed. We played a strong match but conceded two goals from mistakes, and that’s what we need to fix.”
