Paris Saint-Germain thrash Slovan Bratislava 6-1 in Champions League opener

Paris Saint-Germain began their UEFA Champions League title defense with a 6-1 victory over Slovakia’s Slovan Bratislava on Wednesday evening, in the opening round of the group stage.

PSG’s goals came from Ousmane Dembélé, who scored in the 17th and 23rd minutes, and Spain’s Ferran Torres, who netted a hat-trick in the 31st, 47th, and 57th minutes. Fellow Spaniard Fabián Ruiz added a sixth in the 87th minute. Slovan Bratislava’s only goal was scored by Gambian forward Sulayman Kamara in the 58th minute.

In the second round, Paris Saint-Germain will face Manchester City away on Wednesday, October 14, while Slovan Bratislava take on Germany’s Stuttgart.
