Al-Ahli thrash Al-Fateh 4-0 to climb to fifth in Saudi Pro League

Al-Ahli secured a commanding 4-0 victory over hosts Al-Fateh, raising their tally to 15 points and climbing to fifth place in the Saudi Pro League (Roshn League) standings. Al-Fateh remain on 3 points in seventeenth place, just above the bottom, after the match that opened the eighth round on Friday evening.

Al-Ahli dominated the game at Al-Fateh’s stadium in Al-Ahsa, converting their superiority into four goals. Trincão opened the scoring in the 31st minute, capitalizing on a rebound from Al-Fateh goalkeeper Adrian Šemper to give Al-Ahli a 1-0 lead before halftime.

Early in the second half, the Portuguese winger struck again in the 50th minute, once more taking advantage of a rebound from the goalkeeper to double Al-Ahli’s lead and secure his brace.

Al-Ahli continued to press, with league top scorer Ivan Toney adding a third goal in the 60th minute. Ziyad Al-Juhani rounded off the scoring in the 89th minute, capping a solo effort to extinguish any hopes of an Al-Fateh comeback.

With this win, Al-Ahli move up to 15 points in fifth place, while Al-Fateh remain on 3 points in seventeenth, just above the bottom of the table.
