Flick selects first two Barcelona captains, players elect three others

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has selected the team's first two captains, while the players voted to choose three additional leaders in a ballot that featured a surprise twist and played a key role in determining the squad's leadership.

Spanish media reports recalled that ahead of the Joan Gamper Trophy match, Flick had named Raphinha, Pedri, and Eric Garcia as temporary captains, pending the players' vote.

In Friday's player vote to choose the remaining three captains, Eric Garcia, Frenkie de Jong, and 19-year-old Lamine Yamal were elected.

Barcelona are preparing to face Valencia on Sunday at the Mestalla Stadium as part of the La Liga competition.
