Saudi athletes win silver and bronze at 2026 World Masters Athletics Championships

Saudi Arabia strengthened its international presence at the World Masters Athletics Championships (WMAC 2026), currently underway in Daegu, South Korea, by securing two new medals.

National team athlete Sarah Al-Hilal won the bronze medal and third place in the heptathlon, amassing 3,856 points and adding another achievement to Saudi Arabia’s record in masters athletics.

In the pole vault event, Mohammed Al-Qurayea claimed the silver medal and second place after clearing a height of 3.40 meters, marking another success for the Saudi team at the championship.

Strong participation at the championship

The Saudi masters delegation continues to compete in the tournament, which features intense competition with around 7,476 athletes from 106 countries. Including administrative staff and accompanying personnel, total participation exceeds 11,000.

The World Masters Athletics Championships in Daegu will run until September 3, with a wide range of track and field events. The Saudi delegation aims to secure further results and medals to boost the nation’s international sporting achievements.
