Al-Ahli considers signing Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado

Saudi club Al-Ahli is considering a move for Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado during the current summer transfer window, with a transfer fee of €25 million under discussion, according to barcauniversal.com.

Reports indicate that Barcelona is looking to generate revenue from Casado's sale, as the player is unlikely to secure regular playing time in the club’s new lineup.

The website noted that Al-Ahli’s sporting director has shown particular interest in the 22-year-old Casado, as the club seeks a defensive midfielder with strong distribution skills. The director also maintains a good relationship with Casado’s agent, Jorge Mendes, which could help facilitate negotiations if the player opts to move to the Saudi Pro League.

The report added that other Saudi clubs have also expressed interest in Casado, giving Barcelona more options in negotiations, especially as Al-Ahli looks to rebuild its midfield following the departure of Franck Kessié and the potential exit of Enzo Melo if a suitable offer arrives.

Marc Casado is still training with Barcelona and could join the team’s pre-season tour in England if his future is not resolved beforehand. The midfielder is also attracting interest from European clubs including AC Milan, Stuttgart, and Manchester United, while some Spanish teams have explored a loan deal. However, Barcelona prefers a permanent transfer and has rejected the loan option.

Casado previously stated his commitment to staying at Barcelona as long as the club and coaching staff want him, making his future dependent on both his own decision and the club’s stance.
