Social media account admins summoned for posting ads abusing women’s dignity

The Public Prosecution has summoned admins of a number of social media accounts; accused of publishing marriage advertisements in ways that harm the dignity of women; and offend the marital bond safeguarded by the Islamic Shariah and the Kingdom's regulations.

The Department of Investigation into Cybercrimes Cases at the Public Prosecution also began investigating charges; framed against the holders of these accounts related to preparing as well as posting ads; prejudiced religious values and public morals.

This measure came after the Monitoring Center at Public Prosecution found in its monitoring that several social media accounts involved in displaying content; virtual images and descriptions that were offensive to religious values and public morals especially in their marriage ads.
