The Economy and Energy Committee of Shura Council has held a virtual meeting, chaired by the Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Faisal Alfadel, to discuss General Authority for Competition annual report for the fiscal year 2019.
During the meeting, the Committee focused on the role that authority plays in protecting and encouraging fair competition and combating monopolistic practices that affect fair competition.
Members of the Committee directed questions and inquiries to Governor of the Authority, covering different aspects in Authority's annual report.
The discussion also included the effects and results of establishing economic concentration index, and the efforts of the Authority in identifying monopolistic practices during coronavirus pandemic to protect consumers.
