Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal turns tables on Al-Ahli to reach the Arab Championship final

Saudi Arabia's giants Al-Hilal have turned tables on their fellow country Al-Ahli after beating the latter 3-2 on penalties following a 1-1 aggregate draw in the Arab Championship semifinals at King Abdullah Al Jawhara International Stadium on Monday.

Al-Hilal stared the game with a 1-0 advantage over Al-Ahli in the first leg that took place at King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh last March.
Chilean defender Paulo Diaz snatched an early lead for Al-Ahli 18 minutes after the start of the game to make it 1-1 draw between the two sides on aggregate to force a penalty shootout to decide the game's winner.

Al-Ahli started the game without the services of more talented players like Chilean star Claudio Baeza and Brazilian defender Aderllan Santos who missed the game as they hadn't been registered in the team's squad for the tournament.
Al-Hilal also played the game without the services of efficient players like Omani goalie Ali El-Habsi, Italian striker Sebastian Giovinco as they haven't been registered in the team's squad for the tournament.

Penatly shootout
Omar Al-Somah, Nicolae Stanciu all managed to score from the spot, but Paulo Diaz, Hussain Al Maqhawy and Muhanad Asiri failed to find the opponent's nets.

Mohammed Alburayk, Bafetimbi Gomis and Nawaf Alabid ensured Al-Hilal to made it through to the tournament's final game after scoring from the spot.

After this big victory Al-Hilal set-up a final game against Tunisian side ES Sahel on 18 April at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium – Alain Club.
