Al-Ghadha plant, reaching 4 meters, a symbol of King Salman Reserve

The King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority has highlighted the al-Ghadha plant, describing it as one of the most prominent symbols of wild flora that contributes to the sustainability of ecosystems within the reserve, thanks to its environmental properties that help maintain natural balance.

The authority explained that al-Ghadha belongs to the Amaranthaceae family. It is a large shrub commonly found on sand dunes and throughout most areas of the reserve, reaching heights of up to 4 meters. The plant is characterized by its woody stems and tender, drooping new branches.

The authority added that the plant is also distinguished by its small yellow flowers and yellowish winged fruits, making it an important component of the desert environment and a supporter of plant diversity and ecosystem sustainability within the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve.
