Saudi defense ministry announces multinational naval coalition begins operations

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Defense has announced that the multinational naval defense coalition has officially begun operational activities from its headquarters.

In an official statement posted on its X account, the ministry said that Pakistani Rear Admiral Rashid Sheikh has assumed his duties as deputy commander of the coalition, alongside liaison officers from several member states and countries in the process of joining the coalition.

The ministry added that the deployment of liaison officers will be completed gradually, according to the number allocated for each country.

Last month, the Ministry of Defense announced the appointment of Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Salem Al-Shehri as commander of the coalition.
