Thunderstorms and strong winds forecast across several Saudi regions Thursday

The National Center of Meteorology has forecast moderate to heavy thunderstorms today, with possible flash floods and hail, affecting parts of Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and the highlands of the Mecca region. Lighter rain is expected in southern parts of the Eastern Province. Dust-raising strong winds will continue to impact these areas, as well as parts of the Eastern Province and Riyadh, extending to sections of Mecca, Madinah, and Tabuk, especially along the coast.

The report noted that surface winds over the Red Sea will be northwesterly to westerly at 12–35 km/h, with wave heights ranging from half a meter to one and a half meters, and sea conditions expected to be light to moderate.

In the Arabian Gulf, surface winds will shift from northwesterly to southwesterly at 10–30 km/h, with waves between half a meter and one and a half meters, and similarly light to moderate sea conditions.
