Saudi Arabia executes drug trafficker in Eastern Province after legal process

The Ministry of Interior announced on Monday the execution of Mohammed bin Mujkhar bin Abdulhadi Al-Dosari, a Saudi national, in the Eastern Province after he was convicted of smuggling hashish into the Kingdom.

The ministry stated that security authorities apprehended the offender, and investigations led to formal charges. He was referred to the competent court, which found him guilty and sentenced him to death under discretionary punishment.

The ministry added that the verdict became final after appeals and was upheld by the Supreme Court. A royal order was then issued to carry out the sentence, which was implemented on Monday, 27 Safar 1448 AH, corresponding to August 10, 2026, in the Eastern Province.

Warning against drug trafficking

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting citizens and residents from the dangers of drugs, stressing that the harshest legal penalties will be imposed on traffickers and dealers due to the serious harm they cause to society. The ministry also warned that anyone who commits such crimes will face the prescribed punishment.
