In Qassim, the story of transformation is told not only through projects, but also through the numbers when viewed together. From agriculture and investment to transport and quality of life, recent indicators paint a picture of development that reflects the impact of Saudi Vision 2030 across the region and its governorates.

Qassim leads with 584,000 tons of dates

Qassim continues to strengthen its agricultural standing within a more diversified economy, topping all Saudi regions in date production in 2024 with over 584,000 tons. This represents more than 30% of the national output of approximately 1.92 million tons, boosting opportunities for manufacturing, marketing, export, and investment across the date and palm value chains.

892 investment contracts drive growth

In municipal investment, the Qassim Municipality signed around 892 investment contracts with the private sector in 2025, exceeding SAR 239 million in value. These contracts covered commercial, service, entertainment activities, and municipal facilities and assets, reflecting the growing role of the private sector in regional development and economic diversification.

Two million travelers connect Qassim globally

Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Qassim recorded over two million passengers on more than 17,000 flights during 2025 and the start of the first quarter of 2026. The airport network now reaches 14 domestic and international destinations via 15 airlines, highlighting continued growth in the region's air transport sector.

Quality of life initiatives reach all governorates

Transformation extends beyond economy and transport. Housing projects in Buraidah, Unaizah, Ar Rass, and other governorates saw the planting of 4,031 trees and over 134,000 shrubs, alongside municipal, environmental, and recreational initiatives across the region, making quality of life a daily feature of development.

Qassim governor leads by example

At the heart of this progress are the efforts of Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, who closely follows up on projects, supports development initiatives, and encourages cooperation between government, private, and non-profit sectors. He is also committed to ensuring that development reaches all governorates and centers in the region.

This approach was evident when Qassim hosted the sixth forum for development initiatives and experiences, with participation from regional authorities across the Kingdom. The exchange, documentation, and expansion of successful experiences have become integral to the concept of development, beyond just project implementation.

Qassim embodies Vision 2030 goals

These figures are part of the national transformation underway in Saudi Arabia under Vision 2030, led by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. The Vision has redefined investment, development, quality of life, and private sector empowerment across the Kingdom.

In Qassim, these goals are realized through an economy that leverages its agricultural strengths, new opportunities for the private sector, growing air transport, quality of life projects, and initiatives that reach from cities to governorates and centers.
