GACA grants operational permits for four AlUla heliports

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has issued operational permits for four helicopter landing sites operated by the Royal Commission for AlUla, following the completion of all requirements under Part 138 of the aviation safety regulations.

The permits allow for both daytime and nighttime operations. The handover took place at GACA’s headquarters in Riyadh, where Captain Suleiman bin Saleh Al-Muhaimidi, Executive Vice President for Aviation Safety and Environmental Sustainability, presented the permits to Sultan Al-Khuraissi, Head of Operations at the Royal Commission for AlUla.

GACA stated that this move is part of its efforts to enhance infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, and diversify air transport options in line with the objectives of the Aviation Sector Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030.

The initiative is expected to strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a leading global tourist and cultural destination and further advance the aviation sector’s efficiency and excellence.
