Saudi was world's best teacher for 2025, education minister says

Education Minister Yousef Al-Benyan stated that the world's best teacher for 2025 was Saudi, expressing his confidence in the Kingdom's teachers. He noted that more than 72 Saudi teachers received local and international awards over the past year.

Speaking at a government press conference, Al-Benyan said Saudi students won over 400 awards and medals last year, reflecting the achievements of both students and teachers in various competitions and honors.

As part of efforts to nurture talent, the minister explained that more than 4,000 teachers have been trained specifically to discover gifted students, while over 495,000 students participated in qualifying competitions.

He added that the ministry has established several specialized schools to support student talents.

Al-Benyan also highlighted the launch of a digital platform serving 500,000 education professionals, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance services for those working in the education sector.

He further announced the official launch of the “Education Portal,” describing it as a unified destination for all education services in one place.

On early childhood education, the minister said the ministry is working with both the private and public sectors on new models to increase enrollment in workplace-based kindergartens.
