The Muslim World League has strongly condemned the continued attacks by the Houthi militia against civilians and civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, as well as their repeated targeting of Islamic holy sites in Mecca and Madinah, the Saudi capital Riyadh, and the cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, Najran, Taif, and Yanbu. The League also denounced ongoing attacks on Saudi vessels in the southern Red Sea and the Bab Al-Mandab Strait.

In a statement from its General Secretariat, Secretary-General and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, reiterated his condemnation of these terrorist acts, which violate all religious values, international laws, and humanitarian norms. He said these attacks reflect the criminal approach of the Houthi militia and its rejection of all efforts for a comprehensive political and peaceful solution that would restore constitutional order in Yemen, which the militia has overthrown.

On behalf of the League’s assemblies, bodies, and international councils, as well as all Muslim peoples under its umbrella, Al-Issa reaffirmed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in all measures it takes to deter aggression, safeguard its security, resources, and the safety of its citizens and residents. He also expressed support for the Kingdom’s efforts to assist the Yemeni people and their legitimate leadership in restoring stability, reestablishing constitutional institutions, asserting full sovereignty over Yemeni territory, and defeating the criminal group whose coup against legitimacy has brought death and destruction to Yemen and its people.
